ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Wannatalkaboutme apparently didn't enjoy the wet track in Sunday's $162,850 Shady Well Stakes at Woodbine, but managed to keep her unbeaten record in tact in the five and a half-furlong dash for Ontario-foaled 2-year-old fillies.

Wannatalkaboutme, who had never been headed at any call in her two previous starts, raced three lengths off the lead until the top of the stretch, before making her move. She overhauled front-running Queen's College at the sixteenth pole, and coasted home on top by three and a quarter lengths. After breaking slowly, first-time starter Seductively rallied for third in the six-horse field.

The final time of 1:05.52 seconds, over a track labeled good, was well off Bodust's stakes record of 1:04.

"She hated the racetrack, but overcame it," said David Clark, who rode Wannatalkaboutme. "She broke okay and couldn't get a hold of it, but she fought through it, and gave her best down the lane."

Wannatalkaboutme ($3.50) earned $97,470 for owners Martha Gonzalez and the MAD Racing Stable. She is trained by Nick Gonzalez.
