Marc C. Ferrell’s VinMar Farm will offer a complete dispersal of its Thoroughbred holdings at this year’s Keeneland September yearling sale and November breeding stock sale.

The 19-horse dispersal, comprising six yearlings, eight broodmares, and five weanlings, will be offered without reserve and consigned as agent by St. George Sales.

“You will find our offerings to be attractive to all levels of the industry,” Ferrell said. “My family has enjoyed our entire experience as successful Thoroughbred owners and breeders and have made so many great friends along the way. The time has come for us to take a step back and focus on the development and growth of my new company and the raising of our seven children. I am confident we will return in the future at some capacity as Thoroughbreds have been part of my blood since I was very young.”

A lifelong racing fan, Ferrell began working for trainer Jack Van Berg in 1987, the year Alysheba won the Kentucky Derby for Van Berg.

He later developed and operates VinMar Farm in Versailles, Ky. Notable runners campaigned by VinMar include Grade 2 winners Madam Cactus and Second Summer, Grade 3 winners Goldsville and Called to Serve, and stakes winners Fiddlers Afleet and Well Deserved.
