YOLANDA B. TOO was taken up sharply just after the start of the Break Through Stakes at Aqueduct on March 23, and then was forced to go three wide on the turn and into the stretch. She understandably was no match for heavily-favored winner Smart and Fancy (now 12-7-2-1, $350,618), but stayed on well for third money, and should appreciate stretching out an additional furlong. She switches to John Velazquez, and may work out an inside-out stalking trip from the rail.
MARY DELANEY won her last four starts over Polytrack, but one must wonder if she is due for a regression following that triple-digit Beyer in her first start off a short layoff. She was drifting out during the stretch run of that 100 Beyer win in the Queen Stakes at Turfway, and these tougher foes probably won't let her get away with similar shenanigans in here. GINGER PUNCH makes her first start of the year, but trainer Bobby Frankel can certainly get one ready off the bench, and his charge won over this surface last year. She was no match for Ermine last time out, and that filly has since compiled a 4-2-2-0 record in Grade 1 and 2 company. HOT STORM performs well over Polytrack, but was no match for Mary Delaney last time out at Turfway. She has good speed, and should be prominent when they turn for home. LEAH'S SECRET makes the important third start of the form cycle after a pair of even efforts at Gulfstream. She won the Grade 2 Raven Run over this course and distance last fall.
