Vinery boosts fees for More Than Ready, Congrats


LEXINGTON, Ky. - Vinery, which stands stallions in Kentucky, Florida, and New York, has announced its stud fees for the 2012 breeding season, and the upcoming roster has some cuts and some raises in fee levels.

The Kentucky stallion roster’s More Than Ready and Congrats get notable boosts in price. More Than Ready will rise from $40,000 to $60,000, and Congrats gets a lift from $15,000 at the start of 2011 to $35,000 next year. Also getting fee raises among the 2012 Kentucky stallions are Benny the Bull, who goes from $3,000 to $3,500, and Pure Prize, from $5,000 to $7,500.

Four Kentucky stallions take cuts next year. Kodiak Kowboy drops from $10,000 to $6,500; Limehouse falls from $6,500 to $5,000; Pioneerof the Nile, from $17,500 to $15,000; Street Hero, from $6,500 to $5,000.

In New York, Vinery will stand former Kentucky resident Bluegrass Cat in a joint venture with WinStar Farm. Bluegrass Cat will debut in the New York market at $17,500, a significant reduction from his 2011 fee of $25,000. Also standing in New York at Vinery is Frost Giant, whose fee also drops, from $7,500 to $5,000, in 2012. The other Vinery New York stallinos will be D’Funnybone, $3,500; Friendly Island, $3,500; Giant Surprise, $3,500; and Posse, $10,000.

Among Vinery’s Florida stallions, Pomeroy is the sole raise. He doubles his cost from $5,000 to $10,000. D’Wildcat, by contrast, falls from $8,500 to $6,500. Others on the roster are Backtalk, $3,500; Kantharos, $5,000; and Maimonides, $3,500.
