Victory Thrill can make it four in row

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Victory Thrill goes for her fourth win in a row in Sunday's $40,000 Assiniboia Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles.

Trained by Bert Blake, Victory Thrill has recorded all three of her wins around two turns. Victory Thrill won a first-level allowance race on July 17 before taking the Jack Hardy Stakes on Aug. 2. She then narrowly defeated Ericka's Lass in an allowance prep for the Oaks on Aug. 21.

Victory Thrill, who has posted career-best Beyer Speed Figures of 72 in her last two races, will be ridden by Travis Hightower as she breaks from the rail.

Ericka's Lass won two stakes to begin the year, but has not won in her last three starts. Trained by Emile Corbel, Ericka's Lass was third in the Chariot Chaser Handicap at Northlands Park before a third-place finish here in the Jack Hardy. Ericka's Lass, a daughter of Limit Out, then dueled throughout in the allowance prep before giving way to Victory Thrill.

Ericka's Lass will break from the outside under Vince Guerra.

Strike an Image is the only filly in the field with a win at Sunday's 1 1/16-mile distance. Trained by Jack Robertson, Strike an Image has won two restricted stakes here this year, the North Dakota Stallion and North Dakota Derby. She finished second in the restricted North Dakota Bred Thoroughbred Derby at Fargo on Sept. 5 in her most recent start.

Strike an Image starts from post 4 with Ken Hendricks aboard.

The field rounds out with Warmnfuzzyfeelin, post 2, Larren Delorme, and Classy Lil Chassi, post 3, Amber Dickinson.
