Victory Script tries to continue her streak

AUBURN, Wash. - Victory Script will shoot for her third straight win in Thursday's Emerald Downs feature, a $20,000 claiming race for fillies and mares going 6 1/2 furlongs.

Victory Script, a 5-year-old daughter of Game Plan from the barn of trainer Tim McCanna, won 1 of 2 starts here as a 2-year-old in 2004, then compiled the same record at 3. She missed all of 2006 with an injury, but has returned this season to resume her winning ways.

Victory Script came from fourth to down $17,500 company by 2 3/4 lengths in a 5 1/2-furlong race on April 28, then came back to defeat $20,000 rivals at the same distance by three-quarters of a length after dueling throughout with Cinderella Liberty. Ricky Frazier, who was aboard for both of those wins, will again have the mount.

Cinderella Liberty will be back to try Victory Script again, and she might be the one to fear most. Cinderella Liberty, a 4-year-old by Liberty Gold, posted a wire-to-wire win over $20,000 claimers on April 29, when she got six furlongs in 1:09.80. She was outdueled by Victory Script last time out, but she finished only one length behind that rival in third and could reverse that outcome with modest improvement. Trainer Jeff Bonde has named A.L. Gutierrez to ride.

Foxwood Belle has a chance to run them all down if the pace is fast and contested, as seems quite likely. Foxwood Belle, a 5-year-old trained by Sharon Ross, finished with good energy in her first start of 2007 on May 5, when she ran second on the $25,000 level at 5 1/2 furlongs.
