Grade 1 winner Victor’s Cry was represented by his first foal on Feb. 8, a bay colt born at Park Stud in Orangeville, Ont.
Bred by Cavendish Investing, the colt is out of the stakes-winning American Chance mare Itstartswithadream, who is the dam of six winners from seven foals to start, including stakes-placed winners Dash It Dreamer, Archer’s Dreamer, and Archers Dream.
“Our foal is a very nice individual,” said Park Stud owner Michael Byrne. “He’s a strong, correct colt with good bone. We’ll be very happy if the rest of the Victor’s Crys look like this one.”
Victor’s Cry, a Virginia-bred 8-year-old son of Street Cry, won six of 24 starts in four seasons of racing, earning $762,021. He won the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile and the Grade 2 Citation Handicap as a 5-year-old in 2010 for owner Equilite Stable and trainer Eoin Harty, and also placed in four graded stakes during his career.
Victor’s Cry is out of the multiple stakes-placed Clever Trick mare Short Time and is a half-brother to Grade 3-placed winner Clever Strike. He stands at Park Stud as property of Spendthrift Farm Canada for a 2013 fee of $5,000 when the foal stands and nurses.
Congradulations Mike Byrne and crew at Park Stud. Your ongoing efforts to improve the breed within the province are noticed and appreciated by many. What a great move bringing Spendthrift to Ontario, it will move Canadian bred runners up leaps and bounds. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
