Vernon: Saturday 11/1 All-Stakes Pick Four Analysis

Race 6 – $178,000 Artiscape—Open Pacing Mares

With two three-horse entries and just four betting interests, it just makes sense to key in on one horse (or entry). The team of (1) KRISPY APPLE, (1A) SHELLISCAPE and (1B) ANNDROVETTE jump off the page for me as their recent form is reasonably solid. They also were lucky enough to secure the three inside posts. For those looking to play a bigger ticket (2) ROCKLAMATION has been known to perk up off subpar races in the past and (3) SOMEWHEROVRARAINBOW finally got back on track beating many of these at Harrah’s Philly last time.

Race 7 - $240,500 Kindergarten Classic Final—2YO Colts

(3) TRUE BLUE STRIDE finally displayed some of his talent with the addition of hobbles in his last start. He needs to find another couple of seconds to win this race, but I believe the ability is there. (2) BOOTS N CHAINS is coming off a big mile in the Simpson stakes and rates as the horse to beat in my book. (4) FRENCH LAUNDRY has won five of nine starts and might end up as the post time favorite.

Race 8 - $251,100 Kindergarten Classic Final—2YO Fillies

This is a wide open race with multiple contenders. I wouldn’t feel confident picking any of these as my clear top selections, but in this multi-race wager, one of this handful seems likely to win. (1) SARCY got back in gear with a solid second last time after trainer Jimmy Takter added hobbles. (2) ALLERAGE STAR was also a good second most recently, and that was her first start in four weeks. (4) JOSIE’S JOY is a sister to Hambo runner-up Smilin Eli. All of her recent lines are good. (5) LADY CLARABELLA comes off a strong blowout mile in 1:54 2/5 over this track. (8) BEE THE QUEEN hasn’t been herself lately, but she is certainly fast enough to win.

Race 9 - $178,000 Muscle Hill—Open Trotting Mares

(6) BEE A MAGICIAN was a very good third last week in the International Trot Preview at Yonkers and may have finished second with clearance in the stretch. The outside post is a concern, but given a clean trip she is best. (1) MA CHERE HALL, (1A) MISTERY WOMAN & (1B) D’ORSAY form an imposing entry from trainer Jonas Czernyson. The former (1) is very sharp now and the (1A) is in career form. The (1B) doesn’t win that often but is capable of a big mile at any moment. (7) CLASSIC MARTINE is probably the divisional leader right now. Starting from the second tier is far from ideal, but the horse in front of her typically leaves off the gate well.
