Valley Loot rebounds in Farer Belle Lee

NEW BOSTON, Mich. - Favored Valley Loot avenged her recent loss in the Moonbeam Handicap when she drew off to win the $50,000 Farer Belle Lee Handicapap by 7 1/2 lengths at Pinnacle Race Course on Saturday. Silent Sunset was second and Half a Glance was along for third, two lengths further back in the Michigan-bred race.

Valley Loot, owned by Pinnacle CEO Felicia Campbell, won her second stakes race of the meet, running her record to 10-2-3 from 16 starts. Federico Mata was aboard the 4-year-old daughter of Demaloot Deamshoot. She earned $30,000 and paid $3.20 after completing the mile and a sixteenth in 1:46.99. Ronnie Allen trains Valley Loot.

Stablemates run one-two

Ittybittymeadow beat stablemate Skyline Star by a length in the $50,000 Sickle's Image Stakes for statebred 2-year-old fillies. The pair raced together before overtaking leader Sheza Riot, who finished third, nearly nine lengths back. The time for the six furlongs was 1:14.50. Both Ittybittymeadow and Skyline Star are trained by leading Robert Gorham.

Ricardo Barrios was the winning rider aboard Ittybittymeadow, who is owned by Marion Gorham. Ittybittymeadow earned $30,000 and paid $3.60 as the public choice.

While returning to the barn, Skyline Star fell on the clubhouse turn and had to be revived with water. She sprung up and left the course, seemingly okay and under her own power. However, the water used to revive her forced the nightcap to be shortened from one mile to seven furlongs.
