The Breeders' Cup has selected the V Foundation for Cancer Research for the second year in a row to receive the bulk of its charitable contributions from proceeds raised through its year-end event, the two organizations announced on Tuesday. Last year, the Breeders' Cup donated $136,000 to the V Foundation from the event held at Santa Anita Park, according to the organization. The Breeders' Cup will also continue to donate to equine-related charities, the organization said. People who buy tickets online to the event this year, scheduled for Nov. 5-6 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, will be asked if they want to make contributions to the foundation with their purchase. Anyone who donates $25 or more will receive a framed collage of Zenyatta, the 2009 champion older mare and the winner of last year's Breeders' Cup Classic. The Breeders' Cup and the V Foundation will also participate in a number of fund-raising efforts surrounding the event, the organizations said.
