Utopia goes all the way in Mile

Utopia, Yutaka Take up, wins the $1 million Godolphin Mile by four lengths at Nad Al Sheba.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Utopia gave Japan its first of two winners on the program with a front-running score in the $1 million Godolphin Mile.

Breaking from the rail under Japanese champion jockey Yutaka Take, Utopia led Shamoan and Marbush before pulling away at the top of the stretch to win by four lengths. He finished about a mile in 1:35.88.

Win River Win, of Turkey, and Jack Sullivan, who was 12th in the 2005 Breeders' Cup Classic, rallied through the stretch to finish second and third.

Shamoan, trained in California by Eoin Harty, was second with three furlongs remaining but faded to finish fifth.

Island Fashion, the millionaire mare trained in California by Julio Canani, finished seventh, never threatening the leaders.
