ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Untamed Domain punched his ticket to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar with a well-timed victory in Sunday’s Grade 2, $208,400 Summer Stakes at Woodbine.

Untamed Domain ($8) rallied wide from about four lengths off a slow pace to collar the favored Hemp Hemp Hurray in the final strides of the one-mile turf route. He scored by a neck in 1:34.73 over the firm ground.

Admiralty Pier came along on the rail from a stalking position to finish another half-length back in third, and Count Alexander was a prominent fourth in the eight-horse field.

Joe Bravo rode Untamed Domain for West Point Thoroughbreds and Graham Motion, who also trained the colt’s sire, Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom.

“The puzzle came together today,” Bravo said. “Graham did a great job by throwing a set of blinkers on. He’s had a little trouble leaving the gate, but he broke great today. He sat back, relaxed, and he knew where the finish line was. He’s a very big horse that’s just learning. My main thing was to give him plenty of room and keep him out of trouble turning for home. I had to swing three wide, and he just leveled off so beautiful.”

• Moonlit Promise ($13.40) made her first start of the year a winning one in Sunday’s $107,600 Sweet Briar Too, an overnight stakes for fillies and mares.

Trained by Josie Carroll, Moonlit Promise rallied inside under Gary Boulanger to beat a wide-closing River Maid by three-quarters of a length in 1:15.66 for 6 1/2 furlongs.

“It was a tough thing for her to do, but she’s just a good filly,” said Carroll.
