SAN MATEO, Calif. - Uninhibited Song ($12.20) got a perfect trip and defeated troubled stablemate Secret Corsage to win the $55,550 San Mateo Handicap at Bay Meadows on Saturday.

Uninhibited Song sat off pacesetting Yerevan Star and Platinum Princess while outside Secret Corsage in the one-mile race for fillies and mares. Uninhibited Song got a clear run despite racing wide and took over with a strong move into the lane.

"At the three-sixteenths, she gave me everything," winning jockey Frank Alvarado said.

Secret Corsage had room along the rail but was unable to take advantage of it when the pacesetters drifted in a bit.

"She wanted no part of it," jockey Jason Lumpkins said of the chance to rally inside.

Secret Corsage checked as she wheeled to the outside and finished strongly but trailed her stablemate by 3 1/2 lengths at the wire. The winning time was 1:36.38.

"I thought [Uninhibited Song] was kind of a longshot, but I thought she'd run well because she's been working well," said winning trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who also owns a share of her. "She got just about the perfect trip, while Secret Corsage had lots of trouble."

Uninhibited Song earned $30,800 for the first stakes victory of her career. She has won four of 10 races and has career earnings of $115,271.
