Ocala Stud in Ocala, Fla. released the advertised fees for its 2018 stallion roster, co-headlined once again by Uncaptured and The Big Beast, who will each stand for $6,000. Uncaptured, a 7-year-old son of Lion Heart, was North America’s most active stallion by mares bred in 2017 among those standing outside of Kentucky, covering 140 mares. His first foals will be 2-year-olds of 2018. The Big Beast’s first foals are weanlings of 2017. The 6-year-old son of Yes It’s True won the Grade 1 King’s Bishop Stakes at 3, and ran second in a pair of Grade 1 races at 4. Adios Charlie will be advertised at $3,000 after previously standing for $2,500. The 9-year-old Indian Charlie horse is led this season by Grade 3 winner Shane’s Girlfriend and stakes winners Mo Cash and Crocodile Charlie. Awesome of Course, a 17-year-old son of Awesome Again, will stand for $4,000 after standing the most recent season for $4,000. Prospective, an 8-year-old Malibu Moon horse, will stand for $3,000 after previously being advertised at $4,000. A pair of Grade 1-winning newcomers will join the roster for the upcoming season, each standing for $5,000. Noble Bird, a 6-year-old son of Birdstone, comes to Ocala Stud with wins in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Handicap, Grade 2 Fayette Stakes, and Grade 3 Pimlico Special Handicap. Greenpointcrusader, a 4-year-old Bernardini colt, won the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes as a juvenile, and returned at three to run second in the Grade 2 Holy Bull Stakes.
