Unbridled Time now at River Downs

The green and yellow silks of Eclipse Award-winning owners Bob and Beverly Lewis will make a rare appearance at River Downs in Cincinnati on Saturday.

Their 3-year-old colt Unbridled Time heads the field for the $50,000 Green Carpet Handicap for Ohio-bred 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles on the turf.

One of the most expensive Ohio-breds ever purchased at public auction, at a cost of $1.15 million, Unbridled Time has barely earned one-tenth of that back on the track. After winning his first two starts for trainer D. Wayne Lukas, including the WHAS-11 Stakes at Churchill Downs, Unbridled Time has lost his last 11 races, mostly in graded stakes. Unbridled Time enters the Green Carpet off a second-place finish in an allowance at Churchill May 18, his first top-three finish in nearly a year. Greta Kuntzweiler will ride.

Possible upsetters in the Green Carpet include Blame It on Ruby and Taylortwofeathers. Blame It on Ruby was graded stakes placed in the Arlington-Washington Futurity at 2 and finished fourth in the Lafayette at Keeneland earlier this year. A son of Sky Classic, Blame It on Ruby will be making his turf debut.

Taylortwofeathers finished third in an allowance at River Downs most recently, but romped by more than seven lengths in the Summit Silver Cup at Thistledown May 5.
