Uh Oh Bango, Cardiff Giant work for Rebel

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Uh Oh Bango, the runner-up to Rule in the Grade 3, $750,000 Delta Jackpot in his last start Dec. 4, breezed at Oaklawn on Friday in preparation for next Saturday's Grade 2, $300,000 Rebel.

Others considered probable for the 1 1/16-mile Rebel include Grade 1 winners Noble's Promise and Dublin. Cardiff Giant, who breezed six furlongs in 1:17.20 here Friday, is also expected. A strong possible is Lookin At Lucky, the champion 2-year-old of 2009.

Uh Oh Bango arrived at Oaklawn last week from Turf Paradise. The horse went five furlongs in 1:03.20 on Friday, under regular rider Glenn Corbett.

"He finished really well," said trainer Kory Owens.

Corbett, who had been riding at Turf Paradise, will now be based at Oaklawn in large part to ride Uh Oh Bango and his multiple stakes-winning brother Ez Dreamer. Corbett will also be building up business for Prairie Meadows.

"I came with Kory Owens over here," Corbett said. "And there's a lot of people that go to Iowa, to Prairie Meadows. So, we just came over and will start getting horses ready for that meet, and take care of Uh Oh Bango and Ez Dreamer."

Corbett said Uh Oh Bango got over the track well Friday. Owens said the horse could have one more work before the Rebel.
