Twotwentyfive provides the second stakes win of the card for jockey Jose Caraballo, trainer Stanley Gold, and breeder Jacks or Better Farm in the Prized.

Twotwentyfive A gave his connections their second major win on the Florida Sire Stakes program at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, when he drove to a half-length win over Southern Barbeque in the $150,000 Prized. Twotwentyfive A races for his breeder, Jacks or Better Farm, is trained by Stanley Gold, and was ridden by Jose Caraballo, the same team who one race earlier captured the $300,000 Susan’s Girl with Ballet Diva.

The Prized was a mile race scheduled for turf, but it was moved to a sloppy main track.

Twotwentyfive A ($28.20) settled along the rail as My Cowboy and Wicked Rascal dueled through an opening quarter in 23.11 seconds and a half-mile in 45.79. Twotwentyfive A moved to the front  through six furlongs in 1:11.38 and fought on through the stretch to maintain his advantage. He covered the distance in 1:37.87.

Twotwentyfive A is a son of Awesome of Course and was bred by Jacks or Better Farm. He was winning his second career stakes race behind last year’s Affirmed division of the Florida Sire Stakes.
