Two Ontario stallions moving


The stallions War Deputy and Alydeed, who had been standing at Windfields Farm in Ontario, have been sold and will be moving in opposite directions.

War Deputy is heading to Elia Stud near Athens, Greece, for the 2005 breeding season. Alydeed is going to Peaceful Valley Stud near Red Deer, Alberta.

War Deputy, a 13-year-old Kentucky-bred by Deputy Minister out of the Sir Ivor mare Sweet Alliance, was a Grade 3 stakes winner of $141,725. The leading Canadian general sire of 2002, War Deputy has sired eight stakes winners and earners of more than $9.2 million from his first six crops.

Alydeed, a 15-year-old Ontario-bred by Shadeed out of the Alydar mare Bialy, won Aqueduct's Grade 1 Carter Handicap and Woodbine's Queen's Plate while earning $930,689.

The leading Canadian general sire in 2001, Alydeed is Ontario's leading sire of winners for the third straight season. His first seven crops have yielded 11 stakes winners and total earnings of more than $14.8 million.
