Two horses coming in off two wins

PORTLAND, Ore. - Ashley's Attitude and Tease n' Delete, both coming off back-to-back wins, will try to extend their streaks when they clash Monday at Portland Meadows in a six-furlong race for $2,500 fillies and mares.

Ashley's Attitude has been a model of consistency at this meeting, winning 3 of 8 starts with 4 seconds and a third. In her last two starts, she defeated $4,000 rivals at six furlongs on Jan. 24 and then $3,200 foes at 4 1/2 furlongs on Feb. 6. Ashley's Attitude, a 5-year-old daughter of Jazzing Around, was claimed out of her last race by trainer Delmer Webb for owner Dan Miller.

Tease n' Delete, a 4-year-old daughter of Delineator, has come around for owner and trainer Jim Keen in her last two starts. She defeated restricted $6,250 company at six furlongs when returning from a short break on Jan. 31, then came back Feb. 14 and defeated $2,500 rivals at six furlongs by a widening 3 3/4 lengths.

Tease n' Delete's most recent score was all the more impressive because she beat Burning Sea, who is also in Monday's race.

Burning Sea, a 7-year-old from the barn of trainer Ike Damm, finished 6 1/2 lengths behind Tease n' Delete in third. She defeated $2,500 claimers at six furlongs in her previous start, and defeated $3,200 starter allowance company on Oregon-bred Day, Dec. 13.

Ashley's Attitude and Tease n' Delete will carry co-highweight of 123 pounds in the eight-horse field and be ridden by Twyla Beckner and Danny Boag, respectively. Burning Sea gets in at 121 pounds with Monica Barber up.
