Two go in 10.20 at Fasig-Tipton

Juveniles by Roaring Fever and Medaglia d'Oro topped the eighth-mile work tab Wednesday at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's first under-tack session for its May 19-20 2-year-old sale at Timonium in Maryland.

Hip No. 84, a Roaring Fever filly out of Polish Devil, and Hip No. 99, a Medaglia d'Oro colt out of Princess Legacy, covered the eighth-mile in 10.20 seconds. Hip No. 84 is a half-sister to stakes-placed Deviletta, the dam of Wicked Style, and is consigned by Eddie Woods, agent. Hip No. 99 is out of a Saint Ballado mare and comes from the consignment of Danny Pate's Solitary Oak agency.

Wednesday's fastest quarter-mile time was 21.40 seconds, and two horses also achieved that. They were Hip No. 18, a Tapit-McCaskill filly offered by Randy Miles, agent, and Hip No. 207, a Speightstown-Social Director colt who is a half-brother to Canadian Grade 2 winner Dream About. Hip No. 207 is from the Woodside Ranch agency and is consigned on behalf of Newbridge Bloodstock.

Hip No. 224 put up the best three-eighths-mile time of 33.40 seconds. The Malibu Moon filly is out of Starr's Star. Leprechaun Racing, agent, is the consignor.

The second under-tack session got underway on Thursday. The auction is set to run Monday and Tuesday at Timonium with sessions beginning each day at 10 a.m.
