Two Dubai sales to be combined


The inaugural Dubai International Racing Carnival Sale, to be conducted by Tattersalls and the Dubai Racing Club on March 4-5 at Nad Al Sheba, has a total of 131 racing-age horses cataloged.

The auction incorporates Dubai's annual Emirates Racing Authority horses-in-training sale, previously held in May, and also will feature Racing Carnival graduates. The graduates' session is open to all horses eligible to race during the festival, which runs from Jan. 17 to March 6 this year.

The graduates' session will feature 45 horses on March 4. The catalog includes such runners as Irish Group 1-placed and Group 3 winner Lord Admiral; South Africa Group 1 winners Grand Emporium and Key of Destiny; Brazilian Group 1 winners Nepotista, L'Amico Steve, and Evil Knievel; and Choctaw Nation, third in the 2005 Dubai World Cup and a Grade 2 winner in the United States

The horses-in-training session, consisting of 86 horses, will take place March 5.
