Two-day pick six carryover of $239,002 for Friday


DEL MAR, Calif. – There is a two-day carryover of $239,002 for Friday’s pick six at Del Mar.

The eight-race program begins at 4 p.m. Pacific.

The pick six covers the third through eighth race. The sequence offers several tricky races, with no morning-line favorite listed at lower than 5-2. Three races have morning-line favorites listed at 7-2.

Friday's sixth race, an optional claimer over 1 1/16 miles on turf, has been transferred from the turf course to the main track. Track management announced Thursday evening that turf racing has been canceled through Sunday too allow the troubled course to be evaluated following a series of injuries.

Here’s a glance at the other changes as of Thursday morning.

In the fifth race, Dixie Deville will be ridden by Julien Couton.

The seventh race, the $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes, will have 12 runners. Eddie’s First and Chattering Gambler have been withdrawn. Alonso Quinonez will ride Hypnatique. The morning-line favorite, at 7-2, is Alert Bay, who won the Echo Eddie Stakes at Santa Anita in March.

In the eighth and final race, Met Spirit is withdrawn from a maiden claimer over 6 1/2 furlongs.
