TVG to be on DirecTV

DirecTV, the satellite-television company, will begin carrying the horse racing channel Television Games Network on Monday as part of a multiyear agreement the companies announced on Friday.

TVG, a 24-hour horse racing network that also operates an account-wagering service, will be available as part of DirecTV's sports package, a collection sports networks available for an additional monthly charge. Officials said the sports package currently has 1.8 million subscribers. DirecTV's basic package is carried in 11 million households.

TVG is already available as part of the basic package on a DirecTV competitor, the Dish Network. TVG is also available on cable systems in Louisville, Lexington, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and parts of Ohio and Massachusetts.

Mark Wilson, TVG's president, said that the rollout on TVG may coincide with efforts to expand the number of states where TVG will accept bets. He declined to be specific.
