PROSPECTIVE SAINT is Grade 1-placed in 2006, and she prepped for this start with a solid win in the key race Gardenia at Ellis Park. She has good gate speed, and may find an excellent spot stalking probable pacesetter Splendid Blended in the early stages. Prospective Saint fits beautifully at this Grade 3 level, owns competitive Beyer Speed Figures, and should be prominent when the field turns for home.
SPLENDID BLENDED is the class of the race. The multiple Grade 1 winner returned from a layoff to post a facile gate-to-wire score at Philly Park last time out, and shows a bullet work in preparation for this. She's been successful around two turns in the past, and should find her way to the front without much fuss in this spot. She's the one to beat, and should take plenty of money.
SLEW PEG is mired on the also-eligible list, and faces a wide trip if she does get to play, but the nicely-bred filly is 2-2 over Polytrack, and trainer Patrick Biancone has been on fire at the meet.
STOP A TRAIN hasn't been out of the exacta since her career debut sprinting at Hawthorne over a year ago, and she brings improving Beyer Speed Figures to the race. She is stuck with a tough outside post, but has some tactical speed, and would benefit if the top two selections hook up in a speed duel.
LA REASON would also appreciate a quick pace up front. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the Grade 2 winner has faced good competition this year, and should be rolling in the stretch under high-percentage rider Rafael Bejarano.
