Turf Paradise track report

Apprentice Kyle Kaenel has had a nice meet, and it just got better. All the 16-year-old did during the abbreviated Easter week of racing was win 13 races in four days.

"This is the place for me to be right now," said Kaenel. "I went to California for two months, but I wasn't getting the mounts and experience I needed. Here I'm getting it."

Kaenel had mounts in 33 of the 38 races run over the four days. Kaenel won four races on a day twice during this run, on one day winning on four consecutive mounts. It was the fifth time this meet Kaenel has won four races in one day.

The 13 victories moved Kaenel into second place in the jockey standings with 86 victories, just six behind leader Wilson Dieguez.
