Turf Paradise: Key of Solomon takes marathon

Trained by Neil Drysdale, Key of Solomon sat a few lengths off the early pace in the 1 7/8-mile turf event. He blew the race open with a strong run into the stretch to lead by three, and then held sway to win by 1 3/4 lengths over game closers In Joe's Honor and Sleepless Joy.

Ridden by Chris Landeros, Key of Solomon ($7.60) covered the distance in 3:15.36.

* Mark's My Name had no trouble staying unbeaten in two starts as the 2-year-old gelding easily won the $40,000 ATBA Spring Sales Stakes. A son of Benchmark, owned and trained by Karl Myers and ridden by Ry Eikleberry, Mark's My Name prompted the early pace, took over, and won geared down by 2 3/4 lengths. He paid $6 as the 2-1 favorite and ran the 5 furlongs in 56.53 seconds. Rule by Force rallied for second in the field of 12, six lengths ahead of third-place finisher Brietta.
