Turco sends three in Big Red Mile

Reach One More heads a powerful trio entered by trainer Chuck Turco in the $20,000 Big Red Mile at Lincoln Race Course. A field of seven older Nebraska-breds has been entered.

Turco sends out Reach One More, Pats High Life, and From the Ashes as separate wagering interests, and they could well give the trainer a 1-2-3 sweep.

Reach One More is an expected solid favorite coming off his strong second to Shadowbdancing in the Bosselman/Gus Fonner Stakes last month. He was voted Fonner Park's top sprinter on the strength of his allowance win to start his campaign this year. Reach One More is 3 for 3 over this track, including wins in both the six-furlong Journal Star Stakes and the State Fair Breeders' Special going a mile last summer as a 3-year-old.

Pats High Life has won 3 of his 4 starts this year, including a mid-level allowance here May 16. From the Ashes had a pair of mid-level allowance wins at Fonner Park.

The task for Reach One More will likely be to relax off the early pace as both From the Ashes and Pats High Life can be expected to show early speed.

Skwhirl, trained by Bob Rising, is the confirmed closer in this field and will be looking for a strong pace at which to run.

Skwhirl won the Ogataul Stakes for statebreds at Fonner Park in his first start this year and was third in the Tondi Stakes in his next out. His last start came against optional claiming company at Fonner, where he was third to the red-hot Tenth Power. Blumin Attitude, the defending champ in this race, was second in the Ogataul to open the year but has failed to fire in his last two starts.
