Owner and trainer C.R. Trout swept both divisions of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes on Friday night at Remington Park with the homebreds Hallelujah Hit and Sunday Night Miss. The races were for 3-year-olds at seven furlongs and were restricted to the offspring of eligible stallions. Richard Eramia rode both horses. The purse for each division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes was $50,000. Hallelujah Hit ($4.60) made good use of the added ground he picked up in the colts-and-geldings division, rallying for a three-quarter-length win over Makin the Dough. Hallelujah Hit covered the distance on a fast track in 1:22.58. The win was the second in a stakes for Hallelujah Hit, who captured last year’s $75,000 Don C. McNeill at Remington. The horse is by Mr. Nightlinger. Hallelujah Hit is a half-brother to the multiple stakes winner Imahit, an earner of $506,168 who now resides on Trout’s farm in Edmond, Okla. “He’s retired and enjoying the good life,” Trout said. In the fillies division, Sunday Night Miss ($20) closed from last for a 2 3/4-length win over Go Apple Jack. She covered the distance on a fast track in 1:22.69. Sunday Night Miss, like Hallelujah Hit, is by the stallion Mr. Nightlinger. She was winning the first stakes race of her career Friday. Trout had one additional homebred win on the card Friday. Shotgun’s Night, a 2-year-old half-brother to Shotgun Kowboy, won his debut in a maiden special weight for Oklahoma-breds. Shotgun Kowboy is a Grade 3 winner and an earner of more than $800,000. Shotgun’s Night is a son of Mr. Nightlinger.  Trout's breeding operation is based in Edmond.
