Tritap, a Grade 2-placed son of leading sire Tapit, will join the roster of Heritage Stallions in Chesapeake City, Md., for his debut season in 2015.

The 5-year-old horse finished his career with two wins in nine starts for earnings of $155,936. Tritap set a track record at Churchill Downs for 1 3/16 miles during the final start of his 3-year-old season, covering the distance in 1:58.12. In his first start the next year, he finished second by a head in the Grade 2 San Fernando Stakes.

Bred in Kentucky by Copper Penny Stables, Tritap was a $450,000 purchase by Ron Winchell, who campaigned the horse along with trainer Steve Asmussen. The horse is in the process of being syndicated by Heritage Stallions. Winchell Thoroughbreds still owns a significant portion of the horse, receives several breeding shares, and has announced intentions to support Tritap with mares.

Tritap is out of the stakes-winning Ikari mare Victory Road, whose four winners from five foals to race also includes Grade 3 winner Touching Beauty and stakes winner Noisy Feet, both full siblings.
