'Trevors' best at Canterbury


Trevors Easy Tipper became the first Quarter Horse to be named Canterbury Park's horse of the year when he took the track's top honor for 2006. Trevors Easy Tipper was also named the track's Quarter Horse of the year and champion 3-year-old colt or gelding.

Trevors Easy Tipper raced seven times at the Canterbury meet, winning his last five in a row, three of them stakes.

Careless Navigator, a 4-year-old gelding, was named champion older colt or gelding as well as champion sprinter. Al's Dearly Bred, a 9-year-old gelding, was named top claiming horse and champion grass horse.

Caitri was named the meet's top 2-year-old by virtue of her victory in the Northern Lights Debutante, in which she posted a faster time for the six furlongs than males did in the Northern Lights Futurity.
