Geris Hand paid an Oaklawn Park meet-high $228 to win on Thursday when she won the ninth and final race on the card. She was dismissed at 113-1 in the maiden claiming race for fillies and mares bred in Arkansas.

Alsvid, the millionaire sprinter who won his 8-year-old debut last month at Oaklawn, has been retired, trainer Chris Hartman said Tuesday. The gelding will be sent to the Elk City, Okla., farm of owners Jim and Jo Brenda Rogers.
