La Fiera sat back early and then made a strong, sustained rally to defeated seven rival 3-year-old California-bred fillies in the $100,210 Campanile Stakes on Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.
Grazen Sky, favored although he was making both his route and turf debut, won the $100,105 Silly Sullivan Stakes at Golden Gate Fields on Sunday.

Jockey Dennis Carr was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, Calif., after sustaining a blow to the back of his head when unseated by 3-year-old gelding Sharpton in the starting gate prior to Sunday’s fifth race.
