Sheer Drama had finished second in four of her last five starts and eight of her 17 career starts, but she finished the job Saturday at Delaware Park, besting Frivolous by two lengths in the $750,000 Delaware Handicap.
Syntax made a sharp move to the lead in midstretch, then held off a good bid from Money Multiplier to win the Grade 3 Kent Stakes by a half-length Saturday at Delaware Park.
Lovely Maria came out of her fifth-place finish in the Delaware Oaks last week in good shape and is pointing to the Grade 1 Alabama at Saratoga, according to trainer Larry Jones.

The Grade 1, $750,000 Delaware Handicap drew a field of seven when entries were taken Tuesday. The Saturday race is for fillies and mares and will be run at 1 1/4 miles. Favoritism will likely go to Sheer Drama, Frivolous, or Rosalind.
