Tammy Fox, a key employee in the far-flung Dale Romans stable, will be out of action in the coming weeks after suffering an ankle fracture in a recent morning training accident.

Trainer Tom Amoss said he is unsure of the next start for Free World, a wire-to-wire winner of the $207,600 Centaur Stakes on the Indiana Downs turf last Saturday evening.

No Distinction, a two-time allowance winner at the Churchill Downs meet, could make his next start in the Grade 2 Amsterdam Stakes on July 28 at Saratoga, trainer Randy Morse said.

Trainer Ron Moquett’s latest private purchase is Silver Valley, a 2-year-old filly who will get a stern test for class Saturday night at Churchill Downs when she runs under new colors in the $100,000 Debutante Stakes.

In defense of a promising filly named In Kelly’s Defense taking four tries to finally break through her maiden condition, “she was catching some pretty decent fillies all along,” trainer Mike Stidham said.
