Track still buzzing

This track is still abuzz about Chad Johnson's appearance here last weekend. Johnson raced the Thoroughbred Restore the Roar, and won by 12 lengths. After the race, Johnson talked about taking on Floyd Mayweather in boxing, Lebron James in basketball, and Jeff Gordon in an automobile race. Johnson donated his time to the charity fundraiser and did not charge an appearance fee. An estimated crowd of more than 8,000 people turned out to watch the event, promoted as "Man vs. Beast."

* Next Tuesday is the final day of the spring meet, and neither the jockey nor trainer race is close to being decided. Through Tuesday, jockey Dean Sarvis leads with 42 wins, Perry Ouzts is only one back with 41, and Rodney Prescott has 39 wins.

The trainer race is just as tight, with Bert Crawford at the top with 12 wins, and Kris Nemann just one back.

* On Sunday, Father's Day, the first 2,000 people buying a program will receive a River Downs baseball cap.
