Email

Two of Europe's three highest-rated juveniles will clash at the Curragh on Sunday when Holy Roman Emperor meets Teofilo in the Group 1, $382,000 National Stakes.

Holy Roman Emperor has won the Group 3 Railway Stakes and the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes, both at six furlongs. The seven-furlong National will be his first try beyond that distance.

In Teofilo, he faces a horse who is unbeaten after three starts, all at seven furlongs, the latest in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes over the National course. He rates a slight edge over Holy Roman Emperor.
