Too Much Bling tops Ohio-breds


Too Much Bling, owned by Stonerside Stable and Blazing Meadows Farm, received the 2006 Ohio horse of the year award and the Special Recognition Award at the annual Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners banquet Saturday at the Thistledown Bistro.

The Special Recognition Award is given to horses who are Ohio-breds but not campaigned in Ohio. Too Much Bling was trained by Bob Baffert in 2006, winning four graded stakes and over $455,000.

Other awards given included the 2-year-old filly prize to Mini Mom and 2-year-old colt to Head to Toe. Cryptoquip was named top 3-year old filly, while Tri Uimet was the top 3-year old colt. Handicap horse honors went to Cat Singer, while Imahoneytoo was honored as top handicap mare. The sprint award went to Pforperfectspistol.

Elisabeth H. Alexander was named owner of the year.

The top stallion was Left Banker, and Rose Colored Lady was the top broodmare.
