Toledo Eddie looks to snap a six-race winless streak in Thursday's feature race at Los Alamitos.

Toledo Eddie, an eight-time winner in his 27-race career, is part of an oversubscribed field of 12 in an optional claimer over a mile Thursday, the featured race on the first day of the Los Alamitos December meeting.

Trained by Craig Dollase for Art Elbert, Toledo Eddie can end a six-race losing streak in the optional claimer. A 5-year-old gelding, Toledo Eddie was a game second in an optional claimer over 1 1/16 miles on turf at Del Mar on Nov. 15, leading to the final furlong before finishing three-quarters of a length behind Play Hard to Get.

Apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke was aboard Toledo Eddie for that race and has the mount Thursday. Van Dyke, 20, was the leading rider at the September Thoroughbred meeting at Los Alamitos.

Toledo Eddie must beat Wrightwood, who was fifth in the $200,000 Los Alamitos Mile in his last start Sept. 6; Knock Em Flat, second in an optional claimer at Golden Gate Fields on Oct. 24; and Got Even, third in an optional claimer at Del Mar on Nov. 7.

Got Even is trained by Peter Miller, who led the trainers’ standings at the Del Mar meeting that ended Sunday.
