Toccing Man stands out at Arapahoe

Toccing Man stands out as the lone winner Saturday in the $25,000 Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders Association Futurity. And he's not just a winner. Toccing Man is 2 for 2, and as a result he should be an odds-on favorite in the six-furlong race restricted to 2-year-olds bred in Colorado.

Toccing Man launched his career with a wire-to-wire maiden special weight win against statebreds at Arapahoe on June 13. He came back to win a restricted allowance from off the pace on June 26, scoring by a half-length over fellow CTBA Futurity rival Hunkavicar.

Adrian Ramos has the mount on Toccing Man, a son of Toccet who races for Francis Heckendorf Jr., his breeder. Kenneth Gleason trains the gelding, who will break from post 5.

Hunkavicar was making his career debut in the allowance and has reason to move forward on Saturday. He looks like the chief threat in a field that also includes Vicar's Rock Star, who was the runner-up to Toccing Man in his debut, and Cash the Deposit, who was the favorite in the allowance won by Toccing Man.
