Toast of New York out of Dubai World Cup

Barbara D. Livingston
Toast of New York hasn't raced since finishing second in last year's Breeders' Cup Classic.

Friday, Toast of New York, the runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita last November, has been declared from the Dubai World Cup, trainer Jamie Osborne said.

“Toast of New York has picked up a soft tissue injury and unfortunately won’t be able to run,” Osborne told the Racing Post of England.

Toast of New York was favored over California Chrome with British bookmakers to win the Dubai World Cup. Toast of New York is based in England and was being trained up to the Dubai World Cup.

I loved this horse!!! Toast of New York got robbed in the breeders cup because his front foot crossed over the finish line before bayerns nose. The rule for Olympics is which ever body part cross over the finish line first wins!!!!

that's fine--but in horse racing--you win or lose by a nose--not a hoof

That's not fair. I think they should change he rules! What do you say??

IMO he wasnt ready to run. If he was you wouldve saw a prep or work. But works on UK connections are top secret.

He was better than our dirt and synthetic horses last year. Sounds like a synthetic injury.

No, he got injured due to over training!!! Last year I gave a 45 minute lecture at Jacob Javits center on running, program design and bone health!! The trainer of toast of New York did too many strenuous workouts without allowing proper recuperation along with a poor training program!! Normally I get at least $100 an hour for a consultation just for assessment, program design, and diet analysis!!

Shared Belief beat him handily in Pacific Classic

I always wondered what he would have done in the Kentucky derby. He's done pretty well for himself in the states

and the same for Shared Belief. Too bad, he might have won the triple Crown.
