Tizway, winning the Kelso at Belmont, impressed trainer Jim Bond with the way he worked out in preparation for the BC Dirt Mile on Friday at Saratoga.

Five Breeders’ Cup horses stabled at Saratoga put in workouts on Friday, including top Dirt Mile contender Tizway, who went five furlongs in 1:00.91 over the Oklahoma training track.

According to trainer James Bond, Tizway, winner of the Grade 2 Kelso Breeders’ Cup in his last start, went his first quarter in 13 seconds and got his final quarter in 23.60 seconds.

“He went great,” Bond said. “Physically, he couldn’t be any better. I can’t tell you how great I feel.”

Cool Coal Man, second to Tizway in the Kelso, went four furlong sin 47.78 seconds for trainer Nick Zito.

Three Classic horses worked at Saratoga, including the Zito pair of Fly Down (five furlongs in 1:00.85) and Morning Line (four furlongs in 46.60 seconds). Etched, who is stabled at the Greentree Training Center, worked five furlongs in 1:00.80, according to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.

At Belmont, McLaughlin worked Juvenile Turf contender Soldat four furlongs in 49.41 seconds over the training track in company with Yankee Fourtune.

Also working over Belmont’s training track Friday was Allure d’Amour (Juvenile Fillies Turf), who went four furlongs in a pedestrian 54.80 seconds in company.
