Tizdubai injured, out of future wager

ARCADIA, Calif. - After only two starts, Tizdubai is finished for the season. The unbeaten 2-year-old filly sustained a condylar fracture of her right front leg that will sideline her for three months and prevent her from running in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Tizdubai has been scratched from the Juvenile Fillies pool for this weekend's .

According to trainer Eoin Harty, the injury may have occurred in a five-furlong workout at Santa Anita on Sept. 5. The injury was discovered early this week.

"She wasn't sore," Harty said, "but she had a little filling in her right ankle. Just to be safe I took an X-ray, and there it was."

A full sister to Horse of the Year Tiznow, Tizdubai followed her impressive July 6 debut at Hollywood Park with a four-length win in the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes on Aug. 9 at Del Mar, and was aiming for the Grade 1 Oak Leaf Stakes Sept. 28 at Santa Anita.

Harty does not expect the injury to affect her 3-year-old season, and said it will not require surgery.

"[The fracture] is very, very small," he said. "I'm confident that she will be back."

Tizdubai is owned by Dubai-based Darley Stud Management. Harty said the filly was likely to return to Dubai for the winter. He said Tizdubai could resume training in 90 days.
