MEET STATS: 27 - 87 / $153.30
Best Bet: SPECULATIVE EDGE (5th) Spot Play: VITAL SPEED (4th)
Race 1
(5) FOUR DAMSALS came up short last week but deserves another chance at a slightly higher price. (1) LEAHS EX doesn’t have Tetrick in the bike this week. Still, she figures to be tough. (3) PRETTY PAPER was better last time.
Race 2
(5) TOM GIRL gets some major class relief as she drops out of New York Bred competition. Filly should awaken for this good barn. (1) JBS BEACH ISCAPE has speed and moves inside; dangerous. (7) PACIFIC FURY comes off some decent efforts.
Race 3
(2) ALL MUNKY BUSINESS came up short last week but has the inside advantage this time. Do you believe in second chances? (5) KENDALL BLUE got away with soft fractions on the engine last time. If that happens again, she wins. (1) CHOCOLATE COOKIE should flash some early speed.
Race 4
(5) VITAL SPEED responded to the driver change last time. With a trip he could probably go an even quicker mile. (8) BUGSY MALONE showed a decent move last week and keeps Paquet over a couple of others. (3) LOOK UP wired them at this level two starts back.
Race 5
(1) SPECULATIVE EDGE perked up with a huge mile in his first start in more than 1 ½ years. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t race big today. (4) SOUTHBOUND TRUCKER has yet to fire this year but is getting some class relief; respect. (8) BREAK EVEN has speed and hails from a top barn.
Race 6
(5) FLAK JACKET N has a ton of early speed and takes a small class drop. (3) FOX VALLEY ROPER scored at this level last week. (8) MIGHTY ME switched barns and scored a win.
Race 7
(5) OTTO BAUN ships in from Buffalo with no noticeable form. That said, this barn made a similar driver change to Bier and scored a $20 winner a couple of weeks ago; Bartlett is better. (6) WORLDLY DOMINATION showed some life last time; new driver. (2) SHAKEY SLIM draws better and should show speed.
Race 8
(1) VLOS should flash a ton of speed from the cones and work out a sweet trip. (5) HES GORGEOUS looks like a private purchase by Team Burke; clear player. (2) BIG BAY POINT won this event last week.
Race 9
(5) WINBAK DIMENSIONS drops back down and should respond. (9) SHEER BRILLIANCE is another dropper. He has class and plenty of early zip. (1) SAND SAVAGE exits some tough spots out of town.
Race 10
(2) NO MONKEYS ALLOWED found himself in a tougher spot upon arrival from Indiana. This spot should be right up his alley. (6) RIGHT ON TIME gets a fair amount of class relief. (8) WAR AND PEACE found his A game last week.
Race 11
(6) STORYEUM was a good second in a fast mile last time. (4) STEUBEN JUMPINJACK has been racing well at this level. (7) CIANO MAN is capable of more than he has shown lately.

HES GORGEOUS paced in1:56 and was out of the race from the beginning. He was beaten 27 lengths. Burke,Bartlett state vet and all judges should all be held accountable for letting this horse start. Betting public screwed again.

Best Bets
So how can a horse that has not won since 2010 be a Best Bet? SEATTLE RULER has run two "winning" races as the odds-on pick at this level in his past two starts but come up less than a length short both times after giving way in the stretch. Past class has nearly double the bankroll of the second-highest earning horse in the field. Has plenty of speed and a perfect outside draw to try again in this conditioned heat. He has a pair of solid works for the leading trainer and gets the leading rider again.
