Tioga: Sunday 5/6 Analysis

Meet Stats: 0-0 / $0.00

Best Bet: ACT OF HEAVEN (3rd)      Spot Play: PACIFIC CHIEF (11th)

Race 1

(1) BURL HANOVER finds an easier spot this week and should be forwardly placed. (5) FINE FINE FINE comes off some bad looking past performance lines, but that has a lot to do with the competition he has been facing. (2) ISNT SHE LOVELY takes on tougher while in form.

Race 2

(5) ONEMORELAP hasn’t shown it in weeks but has speed in her arsenal. Dan Noble hops in the bike and should be able to put a spark under her. (8) EARLVIC has a bit of class to her and qualified well enough. (9) CAMPOTOSTO moved into the Dan Gill barn and immediately woke up. (2) TEN YARD PENALTY clearly has form.

Race 3

(1) ACT OF HEAVEN is facing much easier today and adds top pilot Morrill; clear edge. (4) MAX Q is another dropping down. I would expect to see some early speed. (6) QUIK CHANGE ARTIST won here last year.

Race 4

(4) THE HEART LIVES ON added hobbles in her first 2012 trip to the track. She was faster than these as a 2yo and could have her act together now with the help of the new equipment. (1A) LOVE ME DO did some decent things last year and gets a catch driver for her debut. (3) LATTE HALL comes off a toss-out mile at Freehold from the rail. Parker is back in the bike and a win would be no surprise.

Race 5

(5) LIFE OF EASE gets a major driver switch and finds a better spot. (3) CAMBEST IN MOTION comes over from Northfield in fine form. (2) NICE BIG STAR draws better; looks for speed. (1) OPAN HEART knows how to win here and keeps Marohn over my top choice.

Race 6

(6) STEUBEN LONE PINE raced well in her first race of the year and now picks up one of the best drivers in the country. (5) COWGIRL HALL showed plenty of ability as a rookie and her qualifier was good. (7) VIXY blew them away in her first start of the year; clear player.

Race 7

(7) SHEER BRILLIANCE should be plenty tight after winging it on the engine at Vernon. Let’s give him the weak call in a tough event. (4) WINBAK DIMENSIONS qualified back nicely and would have gotten my top call, but I fear he will be an underlay because of his past success here. (6) SMOKE PAN MIRRORS has been facing tough competition at the Meadowlands.

Race 8

(4) SUCROSE HANOVER is certainly facing easier. I’ll take a shot. (7) IDEAL IKE seems to have some ability. This is his first start of the year, however, and against older foes. Not sure he will be going all out off the bench. (6) BREAK EVEN is in the Burke barn now. Have some concerns about this provisional driver until I see him steer a few.

Race 9

(1) FALL BLISS ships in sharp and should come away no worse than second. (3) VOICE OF TRUTH has been keeping good company. I fear he might have to overcome a first over trip into the fast and sharp (5) JEREMYS SUCCESSOR, who seems to be coming back around.

Race 10

(7) DISCO DRAGON had no chance from post eight last time. This guy is sharp and this looks like a winning spot. (6) RUNOVER FEELING has all the class but didn’t qualify back with a big effort; tough call. (3) JOVIAL JESTER N has been racing better lately.

Race 11

(5) PACIFIC CHIEF stands out for me in this spot. This field looks pretty bad and he has been facing better. Driver change is also a nice plus. (8) JAILHOUSE ROCKIE finds himself in a new barn. Improvement is possible. (4) MALS GAL has been racing okay and does get a new pilot.

Race 12

(5) MIKEY WANTS MORE hails from a barn that has done well here in the past and he did qualify back strong. (8) PRINCE OLYMPIC gets a bit of class relief but is stuck with an outside post. (4) STEUBEN JUMPINJACK draws better and gets a new driver; maybe.

Race 13

(6) SHAKEY SLIM has plenty of early zip and could steal this event. (4) HANDSOME HUSSY seems like a fit against this group. (1) MICHAELS JEWEL has been consistent lately.
