MEET STATS: 61 - 185 / $317.10

Best Bet: MAJOR LOOK (8th)    Spot: OPAN HEART (11th)

Race 1

(3) HEEZTOTALLYAWESOME was caught in a pretty quick mile the last time he raced at Tioga. I’m not expecting these to go that fast; Gingras drives. (1) WHITESNAKE ships down from Canada and shows some things to like. (6) CENTRAL TEXAS has raced well on the fair circuit. Don’t be shocked if he has more than you might expect.

Race 2

(3) HOWD THAT FEEL returns to Tioga where he was a good second versus better on 7-28. The class relief should suit him nicely. (4) PAISLEY was okay in his first start since March. A small step forward puts him right there with these. (1) DREAMANDA was stuck with an outside post last time. She can get a piece of this race.

Race 3

(1) JACK BAUER has displayed enough in limited starts to stick out as a contender in this field. The driver change is also a nice plus. (6) DAYDREAMIN LYNX comes off a complete toss-out mile at Yonkers. He fits in here. (5) PRINCE CINTRAL seems to suck along in most miles but this field came up pretty soft.

Race 4

(5) SPICE IT UP LINDY raced well while never involved last week. He should be leaving the gate this time around. (8) ALL ABOUT JUSTICE gets Tetrick this week. (6) SOAPY SAP has already proven competitive against this class.

Race 5

(4) SHOWDOWN AT SUN UP drops a few classes; very logical. (7) RAGING GRIN is another dropping down the ladder. The last time he started at this level he won by five lengths. (3) GENERAL MACK is worth a look on the driver change angle alone.

Race 6

(7) SHADOWS DREAM arrives for a barn that has done quite well at Tioga. Morrill has driven him before. (3) BREAK EVEN should make the top and work out a decent trip; using. (2) MIMIS TYLER & (1) RIGHT ON TIME step up in form and look like musts in the lower exotics.

Race 7

(3) YANKEES IN SIX is good enough to score against this group of Open pacers and the price should be sweet. (8) EASTEND EDDIE looks like the one to beat but is far from a lock from the outside post. (7) FLIPPER J has a ton of class and would be no surprise. (2) SHEER BRILLIANCE should be fast off the gate and get a nice piece.

Race 8

(2) MAJOR LOOK is one of the top fillies in the country. Hard not to give her top billing. (4) BETTOR B LUCKY is a nice 3-year-old which rarely misses a spot on the board. (5) PERSISTENT looked good upon arrival in the U.S.

Race 9

(1A) A ROCKNROLL DANCE is the best 3-year-old pacer in the game and should take charge today. (7) HESTON BLUE CHIP rarely loses but has his work cut out for him from the outside post against my top pick. He’ll have to earn it. (5) STATE TREASURER could be in a good spot with a chance at some live cover. (1) DYNAMIC YOUTH needs some pace help to get involved but should get a piece.

Race 10

(8) PRAIRIE BIG JOHN took some time off and came back against some tough competition. This spot should bring out a better effort. (3) CLASSIC VIKING adds Pierce and could show more. (5) CARBON FOOTPRINT couldn’t handle the Open at Vernon; better spot.

Race 11

(2) OPAN HEART gets the class relief he needs to find his winning mojo. (7) SPECULATIVE EDGE has speed and should be using it to make the front. (3) STORYEUM is another with speed and a clear shot at the lead and a likely good trip.

Race 12

(2) THOMAS JOHN N hardly jumps off the page but has some form, which is a big plus in this field. (5) PRINCE OLYMPIC raced okay when dropped to this level last time. (4) BLUE COLLAR RAIDER has some early speed and could show it this week. (3) IRONSTONE WIZ looks like a player despite the recent scratch-sick line.

Race 13

(5) TIMEWELL bumps up for new connections and seems sharp enough to handle it. (8) RED WHITE AND CRUE drops down and hopes his speed will last. (3) EXCELLENCE IN ARTS is off a nice win.
