Timeless Fashion prevails


Timeless Fashion was prominent from the start before pulling away to a clear-cut victory in the $50,000 Dust Commander Stakes at Turfway Park.

Ridden by Hector Rosario Jr., Timeless Fashion ($7.80), a a 5-year-old gelding by Sky Classic, finished one mile in 1:38.13 over Polytrack to win his first stakes.

Your Round tracked the pace from the rail before finishing resolutely to be second, two lengths behind the winner and another length before Matty's Trail in a field of 10 older horses. Officer Rocket, the 5-2 favorite, had a wide trip when fifth, while Brass Hat, the highly accomplished gelding making his first start in eight months, was never a factor when eighth.

Timeless Fashion, based at the Skylight training center with trainer Tom Drury Jr., has never run a bad race in seven starts. His record now includes four wins and a pair of runner-up finishes, including one in his lone prior stakes attempt, the Prairie Bayou at Turfway in December.

Earlier on the 12-race card, Victor Lebron extended his lead atop the winter-spring meet jockey standings by riding four winners.
