Timeless Fashion held on in the drive after leading all the way to post an emotional victory Saturday in the $50,000 Tejano Run Stakes at Turfway Park in Florence, Ky.

With Jimmy Lopez riding for trainer Tom Drury Jr., Timeless Fashion won for connections close to the late jockey Justin Vitek, for whom a memorial service was held following the 11-race card. Lopez, Drury, and owners Judy Miller and Bob Leidle donated 10 percent of their earnings, or a total of $3,000, to an education fund for Vitek s surviving daughter, Bree.

Timeless Fashion pulled Lopez to the lead in the 1 1/8-mile Tejano Run and was all out to hold off Forest Attack to win by a half-length in 1:52.82 over Polytrack. Timeless Fashion returned $3.20 as the favorite in a field of six older horses. Forest Attack, the 9-5 second choice, ended a $2 exacta worth $5.20.

Vitek died Jan. 28 at age 36 after suffering for nearly two years with leukemia. His final victory came in February 2008 aboard Timeless Fashion.
