Three swiftest at preview

Two colts and a filly had the fastest eighth-mile times, breezing in 10 seconds, at Saturday's under-tack show for Hip Nos. 269-535 in the upcoming Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's juvenile sale in Florida.

The Saturday preview followed a Friday preview for Hip Nos. 1-268. Both were held at the sales company's facility in Ocala, Fla.

At the Saturday show, the juveniles working an eighth in 10 seconds were Hip No. 290, a Songandaprayer-Sister James filly consigned by the Off the Hook agency; Hip No. 481, a Belong to Me-Constant Companion filly offered by the Racehorse Consignment agency; and Hip No. 497, a Songandaprayer-Daisy Dukes colt consigned by Eisaman Equine. Their time equaled Friday's top eighth-mile works by Hip No. 28, a Songandaprayer-Froze filly, and Hip No. 37, a Cherokee Run-Glory Way filly.

Also on Saturday, a Belong to Me colt out of Vassar posted the fastest quarter-mile time of 21 seconds. The colt, selling as Hip No. 362, is in Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree consignment.

Hip No. 286, an Anees-Silver Spool colt consigned by Gayle Woods, agent, had the fastest three-eighths breeze, covering the distance in 35 seconds.

The OBS company will host a second two-day under-tack show on March 17-18 at the OBS facility. Each session starts at 9 a.m. The auction runs March 21-22, starting each day at 11 a.m.

* The second Barretts March under-tack show, originally scheduled for Sunday, was rescheduled for Monday because of poor weather and track conditions. Results were not available as of 5:30 p.m. Monday.
