Three Chimneys buys into San Clemente winner

Email

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three Chimneys Racing has privately purchased what it termed “a significant interest” in Anthony Ramsden’s San Clemente Handicap winner Up In Time, who was to start in Saturday’s Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks. A British-bred Noverre filly, she is 8-1 on the track’s morning line.

Up In Time will carry Three Chimneys Racing’s silks in the Del Mar Oaks.

Up In Time was bred by Larry Stratton, who sold her for about $40,000 at the 2009 Tattersalls October yearling sale. Trained by Simon Callaghan, she has won 3 of 8 lifetime starts so far, with her first stakes victory coming on July 24 in the Grade 2 San Clemente.

Up In Time’s sire is by longtime Three Chimneys stallion Rahy, now a pensioner. She is out of the Inchinor mare Up At Dawn and is the mare’s first stakes-winner.

The Three Chimneys Racing partnership purchases fillies from both Europe and the United States with the goal of campaigning them in North American stakes and graded stakes before selling the fillies as broodmare prospects or mares in foal after their racing careers.
