Email

Three Chimneys and Adena Springs were the latest farms to set fees for 2010 on Monday, and both stallion operations made significant cuts to their prices.

At Adena Springs in Paris, Ky., Awesome Again and Ghostzapper both were trimmed from six figures to five. Both stood for advertised fees of $125,000 in 2009 but will now be available for $50,000.

Others Adena stallions with lower fees for next year are North Light and Touch Gold, who drop from $15,000 to $10,000. Red Bullet, who stood for $5,000 in 2009, will be private in 2010. Adena's other Kentucky stallions will have the same fees they had last year. A new stallion at the farm, Singing Saint, will stand for $5,000. Adena Springs has not yet announced plans or fees for its future stallions, Einstein and Tiago.

Three Chimneys in Midway, Ky., is keeping Dynaformer at $150,000 next year and will limit his book to 70 mares. Exchange Rate's fee will also stay the same, at $25,000. Smarty Jones, private in 2009, will stand for $10,000. The remainder of the farm's sires will have reduced fees.

Big Brown is going from $65,000 to $55,000; Flower Alley falls from $20,000 to $12,500; Good Reward from $10,000 to $5,000; Lewis Michael from $12,500 to $5,000; Point Given from $15,000 to $10,000; Sky Mesa from $30,000 to $25,000; War Chant from $15,000 to $12,500; and Yes It's True from $22,500 to $17,500.

All Three Chimneys stallions except Dynaformer will have books limited to 110 mares.
